Huawei P40 Lite launched in Europe in February this year before the launch of the flagship trio (P40, P40 Pro & P40 Pro+). It launched at a price of 299 Euro for the Spanish market. Now, Huawei is preparing to launch a 5G variant of this phone named Huawei P40 Lite 5G. The press renders of this 5G variant, along with the specifications, were shared by WinFuture today.
In a nutshell, it is the Huawei Nova 7 SE but with a different name for the European market.
THIS IS THE HUAWEI P40 LITE 5G
The main difference in terms of the design, when compared to the P40 Lite, is that there is no longer a square-ish camera module on the rear that has the four cameras in it. Instead, the P40 Lite 5G has a vertical camera setup design. The back panel of the green color variant has a unique pattern that is visible when light falls on it at different angles.
Since it is a rebranded Nova 7 SE, there is no difference in the specifications. The P40 Lite 5G has a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ LTPS LCD panel & there is a side-facing fingerprint scanner. Inside the punch-hole cutout is the 16 Megapixel selfie camera.
The 5G support is all thanks to the Kirin 820 5G SOC that comes with an integrated 5G modem. Kirin 810 is still one of the most powerful mid-range SOCs in the market, and the Kirin 820 is even better. It comes with the Mali-G57 GPU & an NPU. There is 8GB RAM & 128/256GB storage.
The Quad camera setup on the rear includes a primary 64 Megapixel camera, a secondary 8 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2 Megapixel Macro camera, and a 2 Megapixel depth sensor.
Finally, there is a 4,000mAh battery & despite being a mid-range device, it comes with an impressive 40W Fast Charging support via the Type-C port. EMUI 10 runs out of the box, which is based on Android 10 and like every new Huawei phone, there is no GMS (Google Mobile Services).
While the exact pricing for the European market is a mystery, the price is expected to be under 400 Euro. In China, the Huawei P40 Lite 5G launched at a starting price of 2,399 Yuan which translates to 312 Euro. The color options are named Midnight Black, Space Sliver, and Crush Green.
