Huawei Nova 8i is coming to SE Asia with Snapdragon 662

It has a rear design similar to that of the Mate 30 Pro!

The Huawei Nova 8 & Nova 8 Pro launched in December last year, featuring the Kirin 985 5G chipset, high-refresh-rate displays & a unique-looking oval-shaped camera module on the back. Now, Huawei is preparing to unveil a budget phone under this lineup named the Nova 8i. It would launch in SouthEast Asia soon & we have already got our first look at the device. Along with the image of the phone, the major specifications of Huawei Nova 8i are also out.

Unlike the Nova 8 & Nova 8 Pro, Nova 8i has a circular camera module on the back which resembles the camera module design of the Huawei Mate 30 series of last year. There are four cameras on the rear, and even the positioning of the LED flash is similar to what we saw on the Mate 30 series. The image above also shows a side-facing fingerprint reader, and the reason for this is an LCD panel on the front instead of an OLED.

Interestingly, while most smartphone makers are now launching 5G phones in the budget and mid-range segment, the Huawei Nova 8i doesn’t support 5G since it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset. There is a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ LCD on the front & the phone gets a 4,300mAh battery with support for 66W fast wired charging. The Quad camera array on the rear includes a primary 64 Megapixel shooter,  paired with an 8 Megapixel ultrawide camera and two 2 Megapixel sensors, one for depth information and the other for macro shots.

There is no word from the brand on when the launch is happening and what markets the Huawei Nova 8i will launch.
