In September last year, the Honor 90 was launched in the Indian market with a quad-curved display and Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset for ₹37,999. Considering the specifications at this price, the phone was overpriced at the launch. But during sales, the price came under ₹30,000, which made it a good deal. Today, Honor launched a new mid-range phone in India, the Honor X9b.

It is worth mentioning that the X9b was launched in China in October last year. Later in January, it was launched in Europe as the “Honor Magic 6 Lite”.

The highlight of this phone is its display, not the panel itself, but the display protection. Honor says it used a brand-new three-level protection that provides multiple reinforcements for the display, the frame and the internal components. The company has used a new cushioning material with micron-sized pores that can absorb up to 1.2 times the impact of the drop.

This is also the first phone to get the SGS’s drop resistance certification. The phone weighs 185g, and the thickness is 7.98mm.

As for the rest of the design, Honor X9b comes in two colors – Black & Orange. The Orange colour has a vegan leather finish on the back. There is a circular camera module on the rear with a triple camera setup. The phone lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, and there is a single bottom-firing speaker.

The display is a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, and 1920Hz High-frequency PWM Dimming.

Under the hood, the Honor X9b has the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. This SOC was launched in September 2022, so the phone does not have the latest and greatest chip at this price. There is LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The battery is 5,800mAh, and the phone supports 35W fast wired charging.

Coming to the cameras, the Honor X9b has three on the rear. The primary camera has a 108MP sensor with an f/1.75 lens, but no OIS support exists. The second camera has an ultrawide lens and a 5MP sensor. The third camera has a macro lens with a 2MP sensor. For selfies, the phone has a 16MP sensor.

Finally, Honor X9b runs on Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2 out of the box.

Honor X9b comes in two colors and a single configuration in India – 8GB + 256GB. The price is ₹25,999.
