Honor View 20 launches globally, price starts at €569 for Europe

A month after the China launch, the Honor V20 was launched today for the global markets here at an event in Paris. Like the last year’s Honor View 10, the V20 comes globally as Honor View 20 & except for the name, everything remains the same. This is one of the few phones right now that have a punch-hole front camera, something that we will see on a lot of phones this year. Moreover, this is one of the most beautiful phones from Honor.

We won’t go deeper into the design and everything as for that, you can check out our previous article on it when it was launched in China. But, in a nutshell, the phone has a gorgeous design, thanks to glass and metal build and especially that ‘V’ design on the rear panel. The phone has all the necessary ports like the USB Type-C and the 3.5mm headphone jack. So, it is a good thing that Honor didn’t ditch the headphone jack on the Honor View 20.

On the front, the Honor View 20 has a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 398PPI. There is no notch on top, and the front camera is placed in a tiny circular cutout on the top left of the display. The phone isn’t completely bezel-less as there is a bottom bezel, but it is a pretty small chin. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the rear, and the company didn’t go for an in-display fingerprint scanner because it is an LCD panel and not OLED.

The Honor View 20 comes with top of the line specifications like the 7nm Kirin 980 processor, 6/8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage, and a big 4,000mAh battery that supports fast charging (4.5V/5A). On the rear, there is a 48MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture & the Sony IMX 586 sensor which means it’s a true 48MP camera, unlike the Samsung GM1 sensor. There is a secondary 3D ToF camera for tasks like Skeletal Tracking, depth sensing, 3D body shaping, Real-Time Motion Capture, etc.

On the front, the View 20 has a 25MP camera which is placed in that small 4.5mm cutout. Android 9 Pie runs out of the box with the company’s custom skin on top.

Other features of the Honor View 20 include GPU Turbo 2.0, Triple-Antenna WI-FI, The NINE Liquid Cooling System, AI Calorie Counting, Al Dual-Frequency GPS, etc.

Finally, here is the pricing of the Honor View 20 for the European market –

  • 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM – €569 / £499
  • 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM (Moschino Edition) – €649 / £579
