A few days back, Huawei launched the Nova 3i in India at a price of Rs 20,990 & it was considered to be the best phone under Rs 25K. But today, Honor announced the Honor Play and this device simply destroyed the competition today. At a starting price of Rs 19,999 this phone offers the Kirin 970, which is the best mobile processor that Huawei makes right now.
It is the same processor that powers the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, the Honor 10, Nova 3 etc. We already know that regarding the performance, the Kirin 970 sits between the Snapdragon 835 and the Snapdragon 845. Also, the Honor Play features the GPU Turbo technology that further improves the overall gaming experience. So, it looks like we finally have a great competition in the mid-range segment as the Mi A2 is also launching in India on August 8.
In case you don’t know, here is the quick overview of the Honor Play specifications –
6.3-inch Full-HD+ (2340 x 1080) display with 19:9 aspect ratio
Octa-core Kirin 970 processor (4x Cortex A73 2.36GHz+4x Cortex A53 1.8GHz) with GPU Turbo
4/6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage (UFS 2.1) (Expandable up to 256GB)
16MP f/2.2 + 2MP f/2.4 dual rear cameras
16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture
3,750mAh battery with 9V/2A Charging via USB Type-C port
Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top
Dual 4G VOLTE
Except for the cameras, it looks like this phone is the best in every aspect whether it is the processor or battery or the storage. The cameras aren’t that good since it is a similar setup that we see in other mid-range and budget phones from Honor.
