In our last article, we talked about the Honor Magic 3 & Magic 3 Pro smartphones in detail but also mentioned that we would be dedicating a separate article just for the Honor Magic 3 Pro Plus. Well, this is it! This is an article all about the new Magic 3 Pro Plus smartphone, which is perhaps the craziest looking phone of this year with its humongous hexagon-shaped camera module on the back. Also, not only the camera module is huge compared to the other two phones in this series, but the camera sensors are also bigger in size. It won’t be wrong to say that the design is very similar to the Huawei Mate 40 RS Porsche Edition that too had a hexagonal camera module.

Honor Magic 3 Pro Plus

Since the rear camera setup is its main USP, let’s talk about that first. So, there are four cameras if we don’t include the 3D Time of Flight sensor. The primary sensor is the 50 Megapixel Sony IMX700, and it is a 1/1.28-inch camera sensor, bigger than the IMX766. Honor used the same camera sensor for the Honor 30 Pro Plus as well. In fact, the same camera sensor was on the Huawei P40 Pro & P40 Pro Plus of last year. This camera sensor features OIS, 1.22-micron pixels, and Full Pixel Octa Phase Detection AutoFocus.

The second camera has a 64 Megapixel 1/2-inch sensor, and it is for ultrawide shots. Then, there is another 64 Megapixel sensor for monochrome photos. And then there is another one that has a periscope style lens offering 3.5X optical zoom, and this one has OIS as well.

Finally, there is an 8×8 dTOF sensor and a multi-spectrum color temperature sensor.

On the front, there is a pill-shaped cutout for the 13 Megapixel selfie camera and the 3D time of flight sensor.

There is IMAX Enhanced for this device as well, something w talked about in our previous article on the Magic 3 & Magic 3 Pro.

Honor Magic 3 Pro Plus

Honor Magic 3 Pro Plus has Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus SOC, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. The battery size is the same as the rest of the two phones, i.e., 4,600mAh. The fast charging options are also the same- 66W wired and 50W wireless. On the front, there is a 6.76-inch 10-bit OLED with a resolution of 2772 × 1344 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The pixel density is 456PPI.

Finally, the phone has IP68 certification and runs Android 11 out of the box with MagicUI on top.

Honor Magic 3 Pro Plus comes in two colors – Black & White. There is no color option with a leather finish on the back, as in the case of the other two phones under this series. In China, the phone is priced at ¥7999, which translates to around $1,235. In the European market, the Magic 3 Pro Plus is priced at €1,499!
