Honor 9X Pro launching in India on May 12, comes with AppGallery

In July last year, Honor launched 9X & 9X Pro in the Chinese market with the 7nm Kirin 810 SOC & pop-up selfie camera. In January this year, Honor launched the 9X in India but with a major change – Kirin 710F SOC instead of Kirin 810. Now, Honor 9X Pro is going to launch in India & the launch date was announced by the company today.

It is launching on May 12th, which means just a couple of days are now left for the unveiling.

Unlike the Honor 9X that launched with a different chipset in India compared to the Chinese variant, the 9X Pro is the same as the Chinese variant. So, it has the 7nm Kirin 810 SOC which, as we know, is an impressive mid-range chipset from Huawei.

The successor of this chipset, i.e., the Kirin 820, launched in March this year but still, Kirin 810 is a very powerful chipset, and its performance is comparable to that of Snapdragon 845. Moreover, since it is built on the 7nm process, it is also more power-efficient than other mid-range SOCs.

Another interesting thing about this phone is that it comes with Huawei’s AppGallery, which suggests it doesn’t include GMS (Google Mobile Services) & therefore, no Play Store. Anyways, talking about the specs of the device, the 9X Pro features a 6.59-inch Full-HD+ LTPS panel, Kirin 810 SOC, 8GB RAM & 128/256GB storage.

The triple rear cameras include a primary 48 Megapixel unit paired with an 8 Megapixel ultrawide camera and a 2 Megapixel depth sensor. There is a 16 Megapixel camera in the pop-up mechanism.

The phone has a 4,000mAH battery & there are reports that Android 9 Pie runs out of the box with EMUI 9.1.1 on top.

The Honor 9X is currently priced at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB variant & the price goes up to Rs 16,999 for the 6GB variant. So, the Honor 9X Pro could launch at a price of around Rs 18-20K in India.
