Honor 9X to launch in the Indian Market in January 2020

In July this year, Honor 9X & 9X Pro launched in the Chinese market with gorgeous design & build and super aggressive pricing. The 9X launched at a starting price of 1,399 Yuan, whereas the 9X Pro at 2,199 Yuan. After a long time, we finally have some information regarding the launch of 9X in the Indian market. It is going to be a successor to the Honor 8X that was a pretty popular phone of 2018.

While we didn’t get the successor in 2019, it is coming in January 2020, as per a report from 91Mobiles.

The Honor 9X comes with a premium glass back that shows an “X” pattern when light falls on it. There is a triple-camera setup on the rear (For the European Market) & the fingerprint scanner is there on the rear (For the European Market). Honor didn’t go for an in-display fingerprint scanner & the main reason for this is the LCD panel on the front.

The display on the front is a 6.59-inch Full-HD+ LTPS panel & there is no notch or holes because the phone has a pop-up selfie camera.

Now, the Chinese version of the Honor 9X launched with the Kirin 810 SOC, whereas the one launched in the European market launched with the Kirin 710F SOC.

So, it is hard to say whether the phone would launch in India with Kirin 710F or the Kirin 810. Considering the competition in the budget segment in India, it would be a better choice to launch the phone with Kirin 810 SOC, which is a 7nm chipset comparable or even better than SOCs like Snapdragon 730.

Another difference is that the Chinese version has 4/8GB RAM, whereas the European version has 4/6GB RAM. There is 64/128GB storage.

Coming to the cameras, there is once again confusion here. While the Chinese version has a dual-camera setup, the European version comes with triple cameras. Talking about the European version, it has a primary 48-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture (IMX586 sensor), an 8 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera & a 2MP depth sensor. The Chinese version has a combination of 48MP + 2MP cameras.

On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera placed in the pop-up mechanism.

Finally, there is a 4,000mAh battery & the phone supports 10W Charging. There is a USB Type-C port for Charging & the phone does have a headphone jack.

Well, it is hard to say in what configuration the Honor 9X is coming to the Indian market. The best would be to launch the European version but with the Kirin 810 SOC instead of the Kirin 710F. As for the pricing, let’s hope to see the starting price around or under Rs 15,000 in India.
