The Honor 8X released in September last year & it was a pretty good offering from Honor. The phone featured dual cameras, glass back, the Kirin 710 SOC & a 19.5:9 display, all for a starting price of 1,399 Yuan or $205. Now, the Honor 9X is set to launch on July 23rd in China & today, Evan Blass shared the design of the phone.
As we can see in the image above, the 9X is coming with a pop-up selfie camera, which means no notch or cutout in the display. So, there is a notch-less design that is better than otherwise. Instead of going on the triple camera path, the company is sticking with dual cameras on the Honor 9X.
Since the Honor 8X launched with the Kirin 710 last year, it is already confirmed that the Kirin 810 will power the Honor 9X. Even the company announced that on Weibo. Now, the Kirin 810 is a 7nm mid-range processor featuring the DaVinci NPU & Cortex-A76 cores. So, in terms of the benchmarks, it beats even the Snapdragon 730 processor. So, that’s interesting.
The fingerprint scanner is not there on the rear so either the phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner or it is present on the side like Honor 20 series.
Let’s see at what price the phone is launched in China. It is going to compete with the Redmi K20 which features the Snapdragon 730 SOC.
