Honor 7X launched officially – Kirin 659, 18:9 display, dual cameras & more

Almost every smartphone brand has so far launched its device with an 18:9 display which is very different than the traditional 16:9 display. Honor, which is a sub-brand that belongs to the well-known smartphone manufacturer, Huawei. Some pretty fantastic honor devices have been launched this year that includes Honor 9, Honor 9i, Honor 6C etc. Today, the Honor 7X was announced officially in China which is the successor of last year’s Honor 6X. The smartphone features an 18:9 display, a powerful mid-range chipset, dual rear cameras and more. In this article, let us talk about the specifications, price and other features of the device.

HONOR 7X – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

Starting off with the design, just like all other Honor phones, the Honor 7X has no physical or capacitive buttons on the front. There are on-screen buttons and the bottom chin has the Honor branding. The front looks beautiful due to that 18:9 Full-HD display. On the rear, there is a dual camera setup placed vertically. The two lenses are placed separately with the LED flash on the left. There is a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The volume rockers and power button are placed on the right whereas the SIM card tray is on the left. The phone does have a 3.5mm headphone jack, and there is also micro USB port, speaker and the secondary mic on the bottom.

 

Now coming to the specifications, the phone features a 5.93-inch 2160x10800p LTPS display with 18:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 407ppi. There is also a 2.5D curved glass on the top of the display. It is powered by the 2.36GHz Kirin 659 Octa-Core Processor with  Mali T830-MP2, 4GB RAM and 32/64/128GB internal storage that can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. On the rear, the phone features a dual camera setup with a 16MP primary camera and 2MP secondary camera for depth effect. The front has an 8MP camera.

Android 7.0 Nougat runs out of the box with the EMUI 5.1+, and there is a 3,340mAh battery under the hood. So, here is a quick overview of the specifications of Honor 7X –

The phone is available in three different colours that include Gold, Aurora Blue and Black. Talking about the pricing, here are the prices of the different variants –

  • 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM – 1299 Yuan ($198)
  • 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM – 1699 Yuan ($258)
  • 4GB RAM + 128GB ROM – 1999 Yuan ($304)
