Honor gives us our first official look at Honor 50

It has a camera setup design similar to the Huawei P50 series!

Huawei teased its upcoming P50 series of smartphones by showing a small promo at the recent event where HarmonyOS 2.0 was unveiled. Before Huawei, Honor will be launching its high-end offerings for this year in the form of the Honor 50 series. The phones are set to go official in China on the 16th of this month, which means we still have more than a week left for the unveiling. Today, Honor gave us the first official look at the design, which shows a camera module design similar to the P50 series.

Honor 50 Official Look

So just as in the case of the Huawei P50 series, the phones under the Honor 50 series feature a camera module having two big circles inside, which are all the camera sensors. It is not yet known whether the phone shown in the official images is the vanilla Honor 50, or the 50 Pro, or the 50 Pro+. But the lack of a periscope camera (which was there on the Honor 30 Pro+) suggests that it is either the vanilla variant or the Pro variant. But there are also chances of Honor skipping the periscope camera on the highest-end phone under this series this year.

Honor 50 Series Colors

Another image shows the phone in four color options, and here as well, we can see the same camera setup design. The image also says “100W Charging” and”100 Megapixel” photos, so that’s interesting.

And here comes the interesting part. Ice Universe, a well-known tipster on Weibo, shared the front designs of the Honor 50 and 50 Pro, and as we can see, while the vanilla model has a single hole-punch in the middle, the Pro version has dual selfie cameras, hence a pill-shaped cutout on the top left corner.

As far as the performance is concerned, we know that at least the vanilla model will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G SOC. We can expect Snapdragon 888 on the highest-end variant.

Well, the confirmed spec sheet is not yet here, so we will have to wait for that. Anyways, stay tuned for more updates!
