Google Pixel 8 & Pixel 8 Pro full spec sheet leaked

The pricing for the US is also out!

Recently, the official promo video of the Google Pixel 8 series revealed the new camera features that Google has added to its upcoming flagship phones. We also got to know the camera specifications of both the phones. Today, the same source (Kamila Wojciechowska) shared the full spec sheet of both devices and the starting price in the US. With this new leak, there is hardly anything left to know about the upcoming Google Pixel phones.

Google Pixel 8 & Pixel 8 Pro

Speaking of the design first, the Google Pixel 8 has Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and back. The frame is made of aluminum and has a matte finish. The Pixel 8 Pro gets an even tougher Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back. The frame has polished aluminum. There was no difference in the glass on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro last year since both the phones had Gorilla Glass Victus. But this year, the Pro model is getting a tougher glass than the vanilla model.

Both phones are IP68 certified. There is a stereo speaker setup, an under-display fingerprint sensor, a Titan M2 security chip, and a USB Type-C 3.2 port (Take notes, Apple!).

The displays are different on both phones. Google Pixel 8 has a 6.2-inch 60-120Hz OLED panel with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, 1400 nits HDR brightness, and 1800 nits peak brightness. The Pixel 8 Pro gets a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 1-120Hz refresh rate, 2992 x 1344 pixels resolution, 1600 nits HDR brightness, and 2400 nits peak brightness. For comparison, Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro had a peak brightness of 1400 and 1500 nits, respectively.

Google Pixel 8 & Pixel 8 Pro

Both the phones have a Google Tensor G3 chip with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, not UFS 4.0. The Pixel 8 gets 8GB LPDDR5X RAM, while the Pixel 8 Pro has 12GB LPDDR5X RAM. There are only two storage options for the vanilla model – 128GB and 256GB. But the Pixel 8 Pro gets 512GB and even a 1TB option (1TB only for the US).

The battery sizes are different, too. Google Pixel 8 has a 4,575mAh battery, compared to Pixel 8 Pro’s 5,050mAh. For comparison, Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro had a 4,355mAh and a 5,000mAh battery, respectively. There is support for 30W wired charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

Google Pixel 8 series will get seven years of OS, security, and feature drop updates. This does not mean the series will get 7 Android OS updates. This is another marketing tactic, but we still expect the Pixel 8 series to get at least 5 Android OS updates.

Google Pixel 8 & Pixel 8 Pro

And finally, as we already know, the Google Pixel 8 has a 50MP wide (OIS) and a 12MP ultrawide camera. The Pixel 8 Pro has the same primary camera as the Pixel 8 but gets a 48MP ultrawide and a 48MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x Optical Zoom and OIS. Both phones have a 10.5MP selfie camera.

Google Pixel 8 will start at $699 in the US, and the Pixel 8 Pro at $899.
