Face Unlock for the OnePlus 5 is coming soon ‘due to popular demand’

One of the best features of the OnePlus 5T is the ‘Face Unlock’ that is right now the fastest among all the phones. The Face Unlock feature of the 5T is not very secure as the one on iPhone X, but it is extremely fast & is more for the convenience rather the security. Anyways, the feature is implemented via software and there is no hardware stuff like on the iPhone X will all those sensors, and this means this feature can be added to other OnePlus devices too. Today, the Co-Founder of OnePlus, Carl Pei has announced that the Face Unlock feature for the OnePlus 5 is coming soon, due to popular demand.

The official Android Oreo rollout for the OnePlus 5 has started, but the changelog has no mention of the Face Unlock feature. If this new update doesn’t bring the feature with it, it looks like the company is going to roll out another update for the phone to add OnePlus 5T’s face unlock feature to the OnePlus 5.

It would’ve been nice to see the company providing this feature to the OnePlus 3 & 3T’s users too, but as of now, the company has said that they have no news for a new update to share related to these two phones.
