It won’t be wrong to say that the CMF Phone 1 was a hit last year. The phone was launched with a unique modular design where you could swap the back cover and attach various accessories. The specifications were also quite good for the price, as the phone featured a 120Hz AMOLED display, a Dimensity 7300 chipset, a 5,000mAh battery, a 50MP camera, and a clean software experience. Today, we got the CMF Phone 2 Pro, the second smartphone from CMF. This phone brings some notable upgrades over the CMF Phone 1, and while the starting price has increased, it is worth noting that the base variant has 8GB RAM this year, versus 6GB last year.

CMF Phone 2 Pro

Design-wise, the biggest change is on the rear, as the phone has a triple camera setup versus a dual camera setup last year. Moreover, the three cameras are placed separately, and there is no camera island. The phone comes in four colors, two of which have a two-tone design on the back. The screws are also present on the back but the back panel is not swappable. Instead, there is a new universal cover accessory which you can screw at the back. The cover supports various accessories such as a universal cover, a wallet/stand, a lanyard, and even interchangeable camera lenses.

The phone is IP54-certified, but there are no stereo speakers, which was also the case with its predecessor. There is a flat display on the front with symmetrical bezels. The phone is 7.8mm thick and weighs 185g. The phone also has the Essential key on the side, which is present on the Nothing Phone 3a & 3a Pro.

CMF Phone 2 Pro

Speaking of the specifications, the CMF Phone 2 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset, which is a slight upgrade over the Dimensity 7300. Nothing claims up to a 10% faster CPU and 5% faster GPU. The RAM is LPDDR4X-type, and there is UFS 2.2 storage. The battery is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 33W fast charging. In India, the CMF Phone 2 Pro comes with an adapter in the box. This is a good move, considering the CMF Phone 1 didn’t have an adapter in the box.

The display is a 6.77-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh-rate, a 3000 nits peak brightness, and a 10-bit color depth. The panel supports 2160Hz PWM dimming, and there is an optical under-display fingerprint scanner.

CMF Phone 2 Pro

As for the cameras, the CMF Phone 2 Pro has three cameras on the rear. The cameras are probably the biggest upgrade over the CMF Phone 1. Unlike the Phone 1, which featured a 50MP + 2MP setup, the CMF Phone 2 Pro has a proper triple camera setup. The primary camera has a 1/1.57″ 50MP sensor with PDAF but no OIS. There is an 8MP ultrawide camera. The third camera has a 2x telephoto lens with a 1/2.88″ 50MP sensor. There is a 16MP selfie camera. The phone can shoot 4K videos.

Finally, the CMF Phone 2 Pro runs on NothingOS 3 out of the box.
