Asus Zenfone 9 official trailer leaks ahead of the launch

The phone is coming with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC

Asus currently has only two smartphone series – the ROG Phone series & the Zenfone series. Recently, we got the ROG Phone 6 & 6 Pro, so that means Asus is pretty much done for this year with its ROG Phone series. Now, the company is preparing to launch a new phone under its Zenfone series. Last year, we got the Zenfone 8 & Zenfone 8 Flip, where one was a compact flagship whereas the other had a flip camera.

Today, we got the official trailer of Asus Zenfone 9, the upcoming flagship phone by the company. This official trailer of the phone was shared by a website named TechGoing, and the trailer not only shows the phone’s design but also reveals the key specifications.

As seen in the screenshots from the trailer, the Asus Zenfone 9 looks completely different from the previous Asus phones. There is a new camera setup design where the phone has two large circles on the top left corner. Each of these circles houses a camera sensor since the phone has a dual-camera setup. Asus also added the “09” text on the back, and the overall design is pretty bold this time with all those color options. The main idea, however, is the same as Zenfone 8, i.e., a compact phone with flagship features.

There is the same sized display as the Zenfone 8. So, it is a 5.9-inch Samsung AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Interestingly, this year, the fingerprint scanner is present on the right side instead of under the display. This fingerprint scanner on the side also supports gestures, so you can swipe it to move the page on display up or down.

Under the hood, the Asus Zenfone 9 is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC, and there is a 4,300mAh battery. This is an upgrade over the 4,000mAh cell of Zenfone 8. The primary rear camera has a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with six-axis hybrid gimbal stabilization. There are stereo speakers and also a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is IP68 certified.

Finally, the trailer shows some accessories that can be used with the Zenfone 9, such as a Smart Backpack Mount and a Connex phone case with a kickstand.

Asus is yet to announce the launch date, but since the trailer has now leaked, we won’t be surprised if Asus makes the launch date announcement soon.
