Asus Zenfone 8 has Snapdragon 888 & 5.9-inch 120Hz AMOLED
It is the much talked about "Mini" phone in this series!
Just a few days are left for the launch of the Zenfone 8 series, and we have already seen the design of Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip as the renders of these two phones were shared by 91Mobiles. The vanilla Zenfone 8 is a compact flagship, whereas the Zenfone 8 Flip has a motorized camera mechanism similar to the last year’s Zenfone 7 series. Even though Zenfone 8 is a compact phone, Asus didn’t go for a less powerful chipset than the Zenfone 8 Flip. Instead, both the phones are powered by the Snapdragon 888 SOC.
Zenfone 8 has a 5.9-inch display which is not as small as the 5.4-inch panel of the iPhone 12 Mini but still, considering the fact that almost every phone nowadays has a display size of around 6.5-inch and above, the Zenfone 8 is a pretty compact phone. The exact dimensions are 148 x 68.5 x 8.9mm, and it weighs around 169 grams. Speaking of the panel in detail, it is a 120Hz E4 AMOLED panel by Samsung with FHD+ resolution and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The fingerprint scanner sits under the display.
Under the hood, Asus Zenfone 8 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SOC, and there is up to 16GB RAM + 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The battery size is 4,000mAh, and the phone supports 30W fast charging. There are two cameras on the back that include a primary 64 Megapixel shooter with an IMX686 sensor and a 12 Megapixel ultrawide camera which can take macro shots as well. On the front is a 12 Megapixel selfie shooter. The phone features a triple microphone setup, and there is OZO Audio feature too.
The primary rear camera can shoot 8K video. Zenfone 8 has Stereo speakers, Hi-Fi audio playback via the headphone jack, WiFi 6, 5G, ZenUI 8 based on Android 11, and a Linear vibration motor.
Well, the specifications are promising, so it will be interesting to see at what price Asus launches the Zenfone 8 on the 12th of May.
