Asus ROG Phone 5 spotted on TENAA, design revealed once again

The phone is expected to launch by the end of this quarter

When it comes to gaming phones, the Asus ROG Phone series is the first that comes to mind, even though it was Razer that started this trend of gaming centric devices. So far, we have got three phones under the ROG lineup and the fourth one is coming pretty soon. It is still not confirmed whether we are getting ROG Phone 4 or ROG Phone 5 but many sources suggest the latter to be the name. Anyways, while we have seen some live shots of the phone in past few weeks, the Asus ROG Phone 5 now showed up on Chinese certification agency, TENAA, which confirmed the design we have seen so far.

Asus ROG Phone 5

The ROG Phone 3 had the model number ‘I003DA’ and since the phone that showed up on TENNA has the model number ‘I005DA’, it makes us believe that it will indeed be called the ROG Phone 5. Anyways, as we can see, there seems to be a secondary display on the rear and this is something the hands-on images of this phone also revealed. There seems to be a dot-matrix display that shows the ROG Logo and users might be able to customize the content shown on this display. Apart from this, there isn’t a huge design change as the phone has a similar-looking triple camera setup on the back and a display with top & bottom bezels that have the stereo speaker setup.

The red-colored part on the left side is most likely the SIM card tray and not another button but we aren’t 100% sure.

Speaking of the specs revealed by TENAA, Asus ROG Phone 5 has a 6.78-inch OLED panel, a 6,000mAh dual-cell battery, 60/65W Fast charging, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SOC. The dimensions of the phone are 172.8 x 77 x 10.29mm.
