XDA Dev boots Android 7.1 Nougat on Nokia Lumia 520

Nokia Lumia 520 was launched way back in April 2013, and at that time, the specifications of the device were good, but if we compare those specs with the smartphones with the same price, the Lumia 520 is far behind. Still, some users are using the Lumia phones. If you own a Lumia 520, then there is a sweet news for you. A developer on XDA was able to boot Android 7.1 Nougat on the Lumia 520 using CyanogenMod 14.1. Running Android on Windows phone, sounds kind of cool right? Well, the same developer has booted Android 7.1 Nougat on Lumia 525, which is an upgraded Lumia 520.

The very first question that comes to mind after reading this news is – Is this Stable? The answer is a big NO! First of all, you cannot expect Android on a Windows phone to be free of any bugs. Same is the case here as Android 7.1 on Lumia 520 is plagued with bugs. So, there are no chances to use Nokia Lumia 520 with Android 7.1 as a daily driver. But, those who have this device lying around can try Android on this Windows device because it is an enjoyable experience. Check out this video:

Another amazing thing is that this phone supports the Multi-Window via Split-Screen despite the fact that it has a 1GHz processor and only 512MB of RAM. Next, we can only imagine that any developer will be able to run Android on the premium Lumia phones like the Lumia 1020 or the 950. And yes, don’t forget that Nokia is making a comeback next year with its Android devices! Cheers. 🙂
