Alleged Xiaomi Mi 8X specs leaked: Snapdragon 675, 48MP sensor & more

Xiaomi will launch a lot of phones this year, and some of the main launches include the Xiaomi Mi 9, the Mix series flagship(s), the Redmi Note 7 (Note 7 Pro), the Xiaomi Mi A3, and not to forget, a foldable phone. Today, we got the full spec sheet of the Xiaomi Mi 9 that revealed some crazy specifications and now, the specs of a mid-range Xiaomi phone of this year have leaked.

Now, we are not sure of the name, but it is most probably the Xiaomi Mi 8X. There are also some sources claiming that it is Xiaomi Mi Note 4. There is also a Redmi device launching on January 10, and these specifications could be of that device. Whatever the name is, this phone has great specs for a mid-range device.

So, the specifications include a 6.4-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of Full-HD+ (1080p). The display has a waterdrop notch on top that houses the single front camera. The source also revealed that there is a big chin on the bottom and the phone looks a lot like recently launched Xiaomi Mi Play. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the back.

Speaking of the rear, there are two cameras that include a primary 48MP GM1 sensor from Samsung and a secondary 5MP depth sensor. Just like the 48MP Sony IMX586, the GM1 sensor also uses the pixel binning technology to combine four pixels into one, resulting in an effective size of 12MP. The sensor also supports Gyro based EIS. On the front, the Xiaomi Mi 8X (expected name) has a 24MP Sony IMX 576 sensor.

Android Pie runs out of the box with MIUI 10 on top, and there is a 4,000mAh battery underneath that supports 18W Fast charging as well. Now, the Mi 5X and Mi 6X launched globally as the Xiaomi Mi A1 and Mi A2 respectively so if this is launched as the Xiaomi Mi 8X, then this will come to global market as the Xiaomi Mi A3 which, as per some sources, is already in the works. The expected starting price of the phone could be 1,799 Yuan or $262.

The Mi A1 and Mi A2 had small batteries, so it is surprising that the Mi 8X (if it launches with this name) has a big 4,000mAh battery. Also, since the Mi A2 had no headphone jack, we are not sure if there is one on this upcoming mid-ranger if it launches as the Mi 8X.
