Design-wise, the Vivo Y500 comes with a circular camera module on the rear with a dual camera setup. The frame is flat, as is the display. The phone is just 8.23mm thick and weighs around 213g. There is an optical under-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, an IP68 + IP69 certification, diamond shield glass on the front, and stereo speakers.

Under the hood, the Vivo Y500 has the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, which scores around 770,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark. The phone has LPDDR4X RAM with UFS 3.1 storage. The battery is the main USP of this device. The phone has a massive 8,200mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. The battery uses the third-generation silicon anode technology and has a high density of 847Wh/L.

On the front, the Vivo Y500 has a 6.77-inch Full-HD+ 10-bit AMOLED panel with a 94.21% screen-to-body ratio. The panel comes with 3840Hz PWM dimming and SGS low blue light certification. The camera setup on the rear includes a 50MP sensor for the primary shooter without OIS and a 2MP sensor for the secondary camera. For selfies, there is an 8MP sensor. The phone can shoot 4K videos from the primary rear camera.

Finally, the phone runs on OriginOS 5 out of the box.
